person_6 Stephen Babcock
Founding partner
Babcock Law Firm
Hometown: Ruston

After graduating from LSU’s law school and working in-house for a large insurance firm, Babcock started his own firm in his spare bedroom with a cash advance from his Visa card. His practice now operates from an office, not a bedroom, and has maintained at least 150% year-end growth revenue since its first day. When he’s not in the office, in the courtroom or on the golf course, Babcock can be found reading Digital SLR Cameras and Photography for Dummies, watching Lost or eating Nutter Butter cookies with ice-cold milk. To view the entirety of our question-and-answer session with Babcock, click here. We’ve pulled a few of our favorites below.

Q: What is your favorite gadget?
A: I’m sorry, were you saying something? I was too busy typing on my BlackBerry!

Q: What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
